Trade fairs will continue as usual, full reopening

During the corona press conference on February 15th, the Dutch cabinet said: “We are more resistant to the virus due to vaccinations, booster shots and acquired immunity. So the Netherlands is going to open up.” Only a number of basis advice, such as not shaking hands, hygiene, ventilation and getting tested when you have symptoms. For (trade) fairs this means that they can continue as usual. So even without a corona entry pass, face masks and social distancing.

“We are extremely happy! Two years ago, the world turned upside down and the event industry was hit extremely hard. Now it’s time to open our doors again, and without measures. We are looking forward to a fantastic spring with many wonderful events”, says CEO Jeroen van Hooff of event organizer Easyfairs Netherlands.

At indoor locations accommodating more than 500 people where there is no assigned seating, for example night clubs and festivals, everyone must show a negative test result. This does not apply at events where there is a continuous flow of visitors, such as trade fairs and conferences.

Smart Badge technology
It is advisable for everyone to keep following the recommendations that have proven effective in limiting the spread of the virus: washing your hands, coughing and sneezing into your elbow, getting tested when you have symptoms and not shaking hands. Before corona, it was already possible at all Easyfairs trade fairs to collect contactless information using our Smart Badge technology. Upon arrival, every visitor receives the so-called Smart Badge, a badge with a special integrated chip. Whit this Smart Badge you can easily scan exhibitor stands by sliding the smart badge over the badge reader of the exhibitor. The badge reader is the special reader that every exhibitor receives and must place visibly on their stand. After your exhibition visit, you will receive an e-mail with an overview of all exhibitors that you have scanned.

Every visit is a safe visit
Your safety has always been one of our top priorities, and now more than ever. Our events and venues are doing everything to be the cleanest and safest places to meet and do business. Your health and wellbeing is our top priority. We have raised our already high standards of hygiene and developed new health and safety protocol to meet the challenges presented by corona. Our partnerships with SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, ensures that Easyfairs meets the highest international standards for health and safety. We are working hard to make every visit a safe visit.

The current lockdown applies until at least Friday January 14th 2022. Worksafe will not take place during this period and therefore the current lockdown has no influence on the passage of Worksafe. The situation will be reassessed by the government on Friday January 14th 2022. As soon as more is known, we will inform you immediately.

You will receive access to the event with one of the followings proofs:

Vaccination certificate:

A complete corona vaccination with a European approved vaccine. In the Netherlands, a vaccination is usually valid from 14 days after you have been fully vaccinated. Were you vaccinated with Janssen on or after August 14, 2021? Then your vaccination in the Netherlands is valid after 28 days.

Recovery Proof:

An evidence of a positive corona test from a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 180 days ago.

Negative test result:

A negative test result less than 24 hours before your visit to the event. Both a PCR and antigen test are valid.

European countries have agreed that every country must have a system for a Covid-pass. They call this the EU Digital Corona Certificate (EU DCC). International exhibitors and visitors can enter the exhibition floor with their covid certificate.

The Corona Check takes place before the entrance.

The Corona Check applies to everyone who visits the event:

No, because the occupancy rate is low during those moments. In addition, the open doors provide extra air circulation.

Yes, the Corona Check takes place every event day. Even if you leave the exhibition floor in the meantime, a new check is needed.

The safety of visitors, exhibitors and our own staff is our top priority. We are very happy that we can open our doors again, but at the same time we want to keep the risk of infections as low as possible. In addition, a negative test is only valid for 24 hours. That is why it has been decided to set up a permanent corona check that must be completed at all times before entering the exhibition floor. We hope for your understanding of this security measure.

No, it’s not possible to visit the event without a valid Covid-pass.

Yes, visitors from the age of 14 are obliged to show identification (passport of drivers license) alongside of their Covid-pass.

The Dutch government will review the measures on January 14th.

Sanitizer stations will be placed at various points at the event so that you can disinfect your hands as desired. Furthermore, there will be the possibility to disinfect hands at every stand. In addition, we have further optimized our air treatment systems in the past period. This helps to limit the transmission of respiratory infections, such as COVID-19. In addition, there is now an even healthier and more pleasant indoor climate in our exhibition halls.

The role of a trade fair is very important in many ways. There are multiple sectors in the Netherlands who have experienced negative consequences of the pandemic. The Dutch government therefore sees the trade fairs as the drivers of the recovery of the economy. This is where supply and demand come together, tomorrow’s innovations are presented and Dutch business meets. There are industries who will realize up to 40% of their annual sales on a trade fair. Also for other service providers a trade fair is indispensable, for example stand builders. The local and regional economy also benefits when a trade fair or event takes place, such as hotels, taxi services and restaurants.

Recently we have conducted a large-scale survey among visitors to trade fairs taking place this autumn. In total over 6.000 respondents participated on this survey. This showed that 90% of the visitors plan to visit trade fairs again this autumn.

Easyfairs follows the measures taken by the Dutch government. European countries have agreed that every country must have a system for a Covid-pass. They call this the EU Digital Corona Certificate (EU DCC). International exhibitors and visitors can enter the exhibition floor with their covid certificate.

The quarantine rules for traveling to the Netherlands have changed as of September 22. Vaccinated travelers from the United States, United Kingdom or other very high-risk areas no longer need to be quarantined. Prepare your trip well and check www.wijsopreis.nl and www.reizentijdenscorona.nl before departure.

No, in case of cancellation by the customer, the cancellation conditions as included in the relevant agreement apply.
