This presentation will look at the current most common data used to select chemical protective clothing and to determine it will keep workers safe, covering why it is wrong (a result of widespread misunderstanding), along with the evidence that proves it. The possible (in fact probable) result is that where workers exposed to toxic chemicals, and safety managers responsible for their PPE selection, often believe they are protected and safe. The reality is that regular, low-level contamination of workers may be happening constantly. The presentation will also outline the solution and how chemical protective clothing should be assessed and selected.
